Saturday, July 28

Today was our last free day before traveling home.  We started the day by doing a few errands.

Pan!

El perro del día.

This is one of the little girls from the Colibrí project, who sells things on the street.

We bought things from her, without haggling.

Afterwards, we went up to the hill to visit Sacsayhuaman, the Inca ceremonial center with the huge stone walls.

We ended up not going into Sacsayhuaman.  On the way up, a man asked us if we´d be interested in 1 1/2 hours of horseback riding, for 35 soles.  Admission to sacsayhuaman cost 70 soles, so we decided to go with the horses!

More to follow later today.
There has been a nationwide teachers' strike in Peru.  Here the teachers are blocking the Avenida del Sol.

After classes Friday we had a small ceremony and everyone received a certificate:

On our way to lunch, we ran into the teachers' demonstration in the plaza.
